During Microsoft’s showings at this year’s TGS, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that the company is actively working with Japanese game developers to bring more Japanese games on the platform. In this statements, he also mentioned that ID@Xbox program now has more than 200 developers from the region.

According to Phil Spencer, the Xbox team has been actively working with developers and publishers from the region to bring more of their games to its platform. Spencer also said that the team has been working hard to ensure console supply in the region.

“The Tokyo Game Show is an important part of our commitment to the Japanese market and the Asia region overall. It’s an honor to support the show and our Japanese partners. We’re working with Japanese publishers every single day to increase our lineup of Japanese games on Xbox. We know it’s really important to fans and customers on Xbox,” Spencer said (as transcribed by Twinfinite)

While Sony has been actively making missteps regarding its popularity with the Japanese gaming market, Xbox has found an opportunity to pounce in for a piece of the pie. Either way, it’s great that fans of the Xbox platform in the region will have easy access to a lot more titles under the giant’s belt.
