It won’t be long before Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is out and fans get their hands on Eidos Montreal’s version of the infamous group. In the meantime, GameSpot has the first 30 minutes of the title running on Xbox Series X. Running in 4K resolution, it provides a pretty good idea of what to expect from the overall package. Spoilers follow of course, so be warned.
Starting with a young Peter Quill before transitioning back to the present day, the opening sees the Guardians wandering into the Quarantine Zone, slipping past the Nova Corps’ force field. Along with exploration and dialogue choices, we also get some early snatches of combat. Overall, it’s looking fairly solid even if there’s a lot more to see in terms of combat tactics and story.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is out on October 26th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Eidos Montreal recently detailed the game’s various in-game settings, difficulty options and accessibility features. Read more about that here.
