Halo Infinite is launching in less than a month, but recent developments have strongly suggested that Microsoft and 343 Industries could be preparing a surprise launch for the game’s free-to-play multiplayer component much earlier than expected. A recent rumour claimed that that will be happening on November 15 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of both Halo and Xbox, and that Microsoft will be announcing the shadow drop on its 20th anniversary Xbox live stream tomorrow itself.

Plenty more evidence has surfaced since than that seems to double down on that. Recently, for instance, Twitter user @EvilBoris spotted references to the game’s “pre order release date” being November 15 in the source code of its official Xbox store page. Interestingly enough, an early access bundle of the game was recently leaked. As pointed out by @ALumia_Italia, the store page seems to have been updated since then, with the release date changed back to December.

Interestingly enough, the early multiplayer launch seems to have been leaked by Pringles as well, via a Halo Infinite promotion page that was counting down to the alleged early launch (before then being removed).

Meanwhile, industry insider Nate the Hate – who has a solid track record with leaks – recently also corroborated reports of an early November 15 launch for the shooter’s multiplayer, though has, since then, said that due to a slight change in plans, that launch has been delayed. Though still planned for some time in November, it won’t be launching tomorrow.

Whether or not that early launch comes to pass remains to be seen, though it seems we won’t have to wait too long to find out. As things stand right now though, Halo Infinite will launch on December 8 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
