After it was confirmed to be in production earlier this year, Gearbox Software and Blackbird Interactive revealed the first gameplay trailer for Homeworld 3. Visually, it looks stunning with several mechanics – like using the Z-Axis to battle in space – that should be familiar to fans. Check it out below.
While the story is still unknown, it references events from previous games in cryptic fashion. Thus far, it’s confirmed to feature an extensive campaign and will once again see players building up a fleet to battle in space. Considering Blackbird’s experience with Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak, it should be interesting to see how that experience carries over.
Homeworld 3 is currently in development for PC and releases in Q4 2022 for the Epic Games Store and Steam. It should be available to wishlist so stay tuned for more details. The Game Awards 2021’s main show is also slated to begin at 5 PM PT so expect even more announcements and reveals.
