Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was the leading game in the UK’s final weekly physical software sales charts for 2021, and as per data released for the newest charts by the Gfk (via GamesIndustry), it has started 2022 in similar fashion. The evergreen kart racer remains in the top spot, and continues to enjoy strong sales, partly due to a Switch bundle.
In fact, the entire top 3 is unchanged. FIFA 22 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which were ranked No. 2 and No. 3 in last week’s charts, have held on to their positions this week as well. Much of the top 10, in fact, is unchanged, with Call of Duty: Vanguard still in fifth place, and various others shuffling positions but hanging on in the top 10, like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the Switch version of Minecraft, Just Dance 2022, and others.
Ring Fit Adventure has broken into the top 10 as people begin to concentrate on fitness at the outset of a new year once again, while Grand Theft Auto 5 has also broken back in, taking the tenth spot.
