Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby and the Forgotten Land came out of nowhere when it was first announced last year, and the series’ first proper foray into 3D platforming has continued to look better and better with each successive showing. And it seems the game itself has turned out great as well- at least according to its first officially published review.

In a review published by EDGE magazine (via ResetEra), Kirby and the Forgotten Land has been awarded a score of 8/10. The review says that “whose who’ve never understood the appeal of Kirby are unlikely to be convinced by his move into 3D”, it’s still “an imaginative adventure” and “a low key triumph”. In conclusion, the review calls Kirby’s newest outing “a work of great craft and wit that, unlike its lead, doesn’t bite off more than it can chew. And it only leaves you hungry for more.”

This is, of course, just one review, and not necessarily representative of what the general consensus on the game should be. It is an early indication though, and gives reason to be optimistic for the platformer’s looming launch.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is out for the Nintendo Switch on March 25. A free demo of the game is also currently available on the Switch eShop.
