Kirby and the Forgotten Land Enjoys Series’ Biggest Ever Launch in the UK

A couple of new releases are in the top 2 positions for last week's physical sales charts in the UK, but Ghostwire: Tokyo has failed to make the top 10.

Last week was an eventful one with a handful of major new releases, and unsurprisingly, a couple of them found themselves at the top of last week’s charts for physical sales in the UK (via GamesIndustry). Kirby and the Forgotten Land takes the top spot, which is a first for the Kirby series, and also the biggest UK launch for a Kirby game to date. It sold 2.5 times as much as Kirby Star Allies did at launch in 2018, and in its first week, has already sold enough to become the fifth-highest selling Kirby game in the UK to date.

Coming in behind second place – by some margin, apparently – is Borderlands spinoff Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, though a couple of factors have seen its sales drop off by the series’ standard, selling just 10% of what Borderlands managed at launch back in 2019. This is, however, a spinoff, while digital sales also haven’t been counted.

Another major new release last week, Ghostwire: Tokyo, has failed to break into the top 10 entirely, coming in at No. 11 and selling 80% less than Tango Gameworks’ last game, 2017’s The Evil Within 2 managed at launch.

You can check out the full top 10 for the week ending March 26 below.
