Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

As promised yesterday, The Pokemon Company has dropped a new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violetand it’s a pretty significant one. In addition to confirming a November release date, the new trailer has also revealed some crucial new details on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

For starters, some important characters have been unveiled. The Pokemon Professor will vary this time based on which version you’re playing, with Professor Sada acting as your guide in Pokemon Scarlet and Professor Turo taking that role in Pokemon Violet. Your rival, meanwhile, is Nemona.

Various new locations and the three starter Pokemon are also shown off, while a CG cinematic towards the end of the trailer also offers us our first glimpse at the pair of central Legendary Pokemon for Scarlet and Violet.

Other crucial details have also been confirmed- like the inclusion of 4-player co-op, which will allow up to four players to explore the game’s world and its dungeons together, in addition to enabling seamless trading and battling, among other things.

Meanwhile, the official website for the game also provides new details on its open world. In addition to being a completely seamless environment, the world will also allow players to tackle all of the game’s content in whatever order they please, with no set narrative order to dictate any of it.

“You can experience a new style of adventure, with a world that you’re free to explore at your leisure and not in an order dictated by the story,” the website reads. “You will, of course, journey to hone your skills as a Pokémon Trainer, but many more discoveries and stories await you.”

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are out for the Nintendo Switch on November 18. You can check out the new trailer and some new screenshots below.
