Microsoft Flight Simulator Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Historic Planes and Halo’s Pelican as a Free Update

Microsoft is celebrating its Flight Simulator's 40th Anniversary with a 40th Anniversary Edition that celebrates the history of aircrafts. It's also getting Halo's Pelican.

During its Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft has announced that, in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Microsoft Flight Simulator franchise, the 2020 game will be getting a new 40th Anniversary Edition.

Microsoft Flight Simulator‘s 40th Anniversary Edition is a free update, introducing new aircraft types from older Flight Simulator games like Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight.

Many of the aircraft coming to the game were developed by Microsoft in collaboration with third-party developers, including iniSimulations, MilViz, Bluemesh, and Aeroplane Heaven, among others. The “Spirit of St. Louis” is also coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition.

Alongside a list of real-world aircrafts, Microsoft Flight Simulator is also getting the Pelican from Halo Infinite as a flyable aircraft. It is available for free in the in-game marketplace.
