The Last of Us Part 1

Naughty Dog formally unveiled The Last of Us Part 1 earlier this month after roughly a year of leaks and speculation, and along with showing some of the visual upgrades being made in the remake, also confirmed that the game will be launching in September. With its launch not too far away, further details on it will obviously be coming in the coming days and weeks- some, in fact, have already filtered through.

For instance, we know how much storage space The Last of Us Part 1 is going to require. According to its page on PlayStation Direct, it’ll require a minimum of 79 GB of storage space. That’s more or less par for the course for a modern AAA game, but compared to The Last of Us Remastered’s sub-50 GB storage requirement on the PS4, that’s quite a leap.

Meanwhile, the page also provides some brief new details on how Naughty Dog is implementing the DualSense’s features in the game, specifically the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. According to the page, the game “supports haptic feedback for every weapon and environmental effects such as the sensation of falling rain”, while adaptive triggers will be used for “all” weapons, “including Joel’s revolver and Ellie’s bow.”

The Last of Us Part 1 will be out for the PS5 on September 2. A PC version is also in development and will launch at a later date. Sony has also unveiled a digital deluxe edition for the remake- read more on that through here.
