Grand Theft Auto 6’s development is picking up pace at Rockstar, and the game has been in no few headlines these last few days. Recently, a Bloomberg report talked about the positive changes that Rockstar is making to its culture and the way it works, and the trickle-down effect that that’s having on Grand Theft Auto 6’s development.

That report also mentioned that the game would be set in a fictional representation of Miami (which is presumably Vice City) and its surrounding areas, and would feature two protagonists, one of which is a Latina woman. It was also claimed that the initial plan had been for the game to be set across large sections of North and South America, with the project being internally called Project Americas, though that ended up getting scaled down, partly to avoid crunch.

Now, some brief but interesting new details have emerged on that initial plan. As per Axios’ Stephen Totilo, Rockstar was initially planning on having Grand Theft Auto 6 feature three cities in total, as well as four protagonists.

Reportedly, the current plan is to launch GTA 6 with just the Miami setting and two protagonists, with more cities and missions being added to it over time.

Of course, it also looks like the game isn’t going to be out for several more years (possibly not until 2025), so it might be a while before we get any official confirmation on this.
