The next Assassin’s Creed game has been in the rumour mill for most of 2022, as is tradition for Ubisoft titles for this point, and now, it’s been officially confirmed. Taking recently to Twitter, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is indeed the next game in the series. A full reveal for the title is coming at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event on September 10.
Ubisoft has also shared the game’s key art, which seems to confirm some key leaked details, like the game being set in Baghdad. As per report, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will star a younger version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Basim as its protagonist. The game is allegedly a smaller and more stealth-focused title, and doesn’t feature any of the RPG mechanics that have become prevalent in recent Assassin’s Creed entries. It is due out in Spring 2023, if reports are to be believed.
According to a recent leak, Ubisoft is also developing a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed, to be offered with Mirage’s Season Pass. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Infinity is also currently in development. Whether we’ll hear more about any of those at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event remains to be seen.
