2023 is a looking like a packed year (barring any potential delays, which seems like an inevitability), and one of several heavyweights set to launch next year is Square Enix’s PS5-exclusive RPG, Final Fantasy 16. The hype surrounding the game continues to build up in the lead up to its launch next year, and the Japanese publisher is ready to kick it up another notch soon.
Earlier this year, producer Naoko Yoshida confirmed that a new Final Fantasy 16 trailer would be arriving sometime in Fall, bringing new details about the game’s world and its story, while as recently as a couple weeks ago, he reiterated that that new trailer – along with a narrower release window – is likely to arrive in October.
Now, Yoshida has confirmed the same. As spotted by @Genki_JPN over on Twitter, speaking during a recent Studio NGC livestream, Yoshida confirmed that Square Enix will “release something” for Final Fantasy 16 this month. When exactly it will arrive and whether it’ll be form of some yet-to-be-announced event remains to be seen- but at least the wait won’t be a long one.
Final Fantasy 16 is set to launch for the PS5 in Summer 2023.
