ZeniMax Online Studios has built up a sizeable and dedicated fanbase with its solid support and development of The Elder Scrolls Online over the years, but the developer is also gearing up to expand its horizons with another project. We’ve known for a while now that the studio has a new IP in the works, and now, some new details on its development have also emerged.

Speaking recently on the Product Builders podcast (via Windows Central), ZeniMax Online Studios’ creative director Ben Jones revealed that the aforementioned new IP has been in development for as long as four and a half years. As you’d expect, during that time, the game has also seen several changes behind-the-scenes, many of which are related to its story.

The studio has over 200 people working on the game, with the team also including several remote positions spread out across the world. The design team, led by Jones, has roughly 50 people involved. Appropriately enough, Jones describes it as “a very large-scope project” that the studio has a “considerable investment” in.

How long will it before this new IP is unveiled? That remains to be seen. That said, given how long it’s been in development, one would imagine it won’t be too long before we begin hearing more concrete details about it.
