Sega has released a new update for its recently-released open world platformer, which looks to sand out some of the experience's rougher edges.

Sonic Frontiers

Shortly after Sonic Frontiers’ launch earlier in the month, game director Morio Kishimoto said that Sega was treating its launch as a “global playtest” of sorts and intended to keep improving and polishing the experience based on feedback from players. That process has now kicked off, with update 1.10 now live for Sonic Frontiers.

As updates go, this isn’t a particularly massive one, though it does get started on polishing up the experience and ironing out some technical issues. In addition to addressing crashing bugs, performance issues, and audio issues, the patch also brings UI improvements and other gameplay optimizations. You can check out the full patch notes below.

In our review of Sonic Frontiers, we gave it a score of 8/10, saying, “It’s not a home run, but Sonic Frontiers does so much of the things that really matter so well that it is easily the most fun 3D Sonic has been in years – maybe even decades – and a genuinely fun and engaging game on its own merits.” Read the full review through here.

Sonic Frontiers is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

UPDATE 1.10 PATCH NOTES:

  • Fixed random crashing bugs.
  • Addressed audio related issues.
  • Added UI improvements.
  • Added gameplay optimizations.
  • Added stability and performance improvements.
  • Other minor fixes.
