KeokeN Interactive’s upcoming sci-fi adventure title Deliver Us Mars has generated a fair amount of buzz over the last few months. With improvements in a number of key areas, from traversal and puzzles to storytelling and visuals, it’s looking like it’ll be a significant step up over its predecessor, Deliver Us the MoonAnother area where the game is apparently going to have a much wider scope is its length.

That’s according to narrative director Raynor Arkenbout, who recently confirmed in an interview with GamingBolt that Deliver Us Mars is going to be a “significantly longer” game than its predecessor- though exactly what its runtime will be hasn’t yet been detailed.

“We’re not revealing specifics on length right now, just because we think it’ll vary between players,” the developer said. “With Deliver Us the Moon, we had a lot of comments that asked us to make a longer game next time. And we wanted to do that too. It’s significantly longer!”

Interestingly, Arkenbout also explained that owing to the game being set on Mars instead of the moon, it will also feature much greater environmental variety across several biomes, while players can also expect major lighting improvements.

“Obviously there will be a visual difference – that’s the most significant change,” Arkenbout said. “We pushed hard on that side of things and gave our game real environmental diversity by visiting more biomes this time: the red sands of Mars, an icy valley, an abandoned space station – plus there are sections set on Earth, and a few surprises we’re keeping for launch. This time we got to play way more with lighting and using the sun cycle to help set the atmosphere of each chapter in the story – we made the most of these techniques, for sure!”

Deliver Us Mars is due out for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 2, 2023. Our full interview with Arkenbout will be going live soon, so stay tuned.
