Destiny 2 Lightfall - Season of the Deep - Legendary weapon

Despite being easy, Destiny 2: Lightfall’s Root of Nightmares raid has received praise for its art direction and fun factor. However, there are still plenty of questions surrounding the campaign and Bungie saying it’s “just the beginning” of the next year of story-telling rubbed many the wrong way. Nevertheless, some major revelations are coming in Season 21, aka Season of the Deep.

Spoilers follow, so if you haven’t finished Lightfall’s campaign, be warned. In the latest This Week at Bungie, the developer revealed that a new quest would be coming to all expansion owners next season.

“Throughout this quest, players will explore the city to learn about the nature of the Veil through Osiris’s research and newly uncovered Ishtar Collective data. This brief pursuit will be available to all Lightfall owners and will take place separately from the events of Season of the Deep.” Upon completing the quest, three new Strand Aspects are unlocked.

The Titan gets Flechette Storm, the Warlock gets The Wanderer, and the Hunter receives Threaded Specter. You’ll need to earn them to discover their functions, but they’re awarded upon completing the quest and won’t require Strand Meditations. It will also remain in Neomuna even after Season of the Deep concludes.

If that weren’t enough, Lightfall owners also get a new Legendary weapon as a reward from the quest. Some may recognize this as the handcannon used by the Hunter for much of Lightfall’s marketing which is conveniently missing in the current game. Regardless, it’s on the way, so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
