LEGO 2K Drive is about a month and a half away from launch, and developer Visual Concepts is promising a robust open world racing experience right off the bat, but there will be plenty of content to look forward to in the months following after the game’s release as well. And while details on what exactly the racer’s post-launch roadmap will entail are yet to be shared, executive producer Mark Pierce says players can look forward to plenty of collaborations with other properties, as is the norm for licensed LEGO games.

In a recent interview with VGC, though Pierce was reluctant to provide any concrete details, he did say the game will see some “very impressive” collaborations that LEGO fans will “love”.

“There’s no announcements about that at the moment, but I wouldn’t be shocked,” he said when asked about IP collaborations. “[Drive] is truly a AAA effort and we’re at the pinnacle of all of these different brands and everything, and the commitment from these large companies is very high. We have a lot of stuff I can’t really talk about now… But there are collaborations that are coming down the line, as we get to post-launch, that are very impressive. I think LEGO fans are gonna love them.”

Of course, what form the game’s post-launch will take remains to be seen, especially in terms of how it will be monetized. It has been confirmed that the game will feature microtransactions, so players will be anxious to know how that applies to DLC and expansions.

Meanwhile, in the same interview, Pierce also confirmed that Visual Concepts and 2K Games are envision a robust future for LEGO 2K Drive that, if things go to plan, will also include multiple sequels. Read more on that through here.

LEGO 2K Drive is out on May 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
