Crash Bandicoot spinoff MOBA Crash Team Rumble will be launching in June, and ahead of its release, Activision and developer Toys for Bob have started revealing more details on the game. As a multiplayer-focused title, it is, as you would expect, going to feature a Battle Pass as well, and as is the norm with most Battle Passes for games in today’s day and age, it’s been confirmed that it will only feature unlocks for cosmetic items.

The same was confirmed in an official blog post by the developer, stating that with the goal for the team being to deliver a “balanced experience for every player to enjoy”, any and all unlocks for characters and powers will be exclusively tied to gameplay, which means the Battle Pass will only cover cosmetic items. At the same time, players who don’t want to worry about rising through the tiers in the Battle Pass will also be able to unlock cosmetics by participating in events.

“Customize the experience with unique skins, emotes, cosmetic attachments, banners, victory music, and more – all of which can be earned through completing challenges, leveling heroes, and progressing the Battle Pass,” the developer wrote.

“We want a balanced experience for every player to enjoy the N. Sane fun that Crash Team Rumble has to offer, which is why new heroes and powers will be earned through in-game challenges and NOT tied to the Battle Pass. Battle Passes will only reward cosmetic items for those who want to get a WUMP on the season’s latest looks, however cosmetics will also be earnable through seasonal event participation.”

Toys for Bob has also offered details on what to expect from the game’s upcoming closed beta, which will run from April 20 to 24. Read more on that through here.

Crash Team Rumble launches on June 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
