GameMill Entertainment and has announced Skull Island: Rise of Kong, a third person action-adventure game based on King Kong and the setting of Skull Island. Players will play as Kong himself, and experience his full story, beginning as a young orphan and charting his rise to the king of the island.
The saurian terror Gaw will serve as the game’s primary antagonist, with Kong setting out on a journey to kill the monster in order to avenge his parents. Along the way, players will fight other “primal beasts” and “unique monsters”, in addition to traversing various unique environments, jungles, swamps, skullite-filled caves, and more. There will also be collectibles to find and new areas to unlock, while players will also be able to expand Kong’s pool of abilities by progressing deeper in the game. Skull Island: Rise of Kong will launch sometime later this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A specific release date hasn’t yet been announced.
