Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer Hypes Upcoming Pre-Order Beta

The beta is available from August 18th to 21st for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and features online 1v1 matches and Klassic Tower.

Those who pre-ordered NetherRealm Studios’ Mortal Kombat 1 can look forward to the upcoming beta this weekend. It runs from August 18th to August 21st for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S (not for PC or Nintendo Switch). A new trailer is available, showcasing some of the content players can look forward to.

Playable characters include Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Fire God Liu Kang, Kitana, Sub-Zero and Li Mei, with Sonya Blade, Frost, Jax Briggs and more. The Klassic Tower offers single-player matches against AI opponents. Downloads for the beta go live on August 15th at 8 AM PDT.

The pre-order beta won’t include cross-platform play, and no progress carries over to the main game. You also need PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold to play online. Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 19th but those who purchase the Premium or Kollector’s Editions can start on September 14th. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
