Kinetic Games’ multiplayer horror title Phasmophobia has been something of a revelation ever since its PC early access release back in 2020, and earlier this year, the developer confirmed that it would be opening the gates for an even larger community with a console launch. That launch, however, has been delayed by a couple of months.

Originally set to launch for consoles in early access sometime this month, Kinetic Games has now pushed back the console versions’ release window to October, with the game now targeting a release sometime during the week leading up to Halloween. The developer says the delay was caused by a recent fire incident in its office building, which has impacted its ability to test and develop the port.

In a Twitter post announcing the delay, Kinetic Games wrote, “Due to a recent fire incident in our office building and unpredicted development issues, our ability to test and develop has been significantly impacted.

“After careful consideration we have made the tough decision to delay the console release, initially set for August, while we get everything sorted. We are now aiming for a special launch during the week leading up to Halloween this October. This gives us the needed time to perfect and finetune everything.”

Upon release, Phasmophobia will be available in early access for PS5, PS VR2, and Xbox Series X/S.
