Turns out the rumours were true; Paradox Interactive has re-revealed Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 at PAX West 2023. The game is now slated for a Fall 2024 release window, and is being developed by The Chinese Room, the studio behind titles like Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, Dear Esther, and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, among others. The new official website for the game currently only indicates a PC release.
Taking place in Seattle, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will put players in the shoes of an elder Vampire. Players will have to deal with different factions and pick the appropriate allies. The game is slated to get a new full-length gameplay video in January, and the playable clans in the game are set to be showcased between now and the end of the year.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has had quite a troubled development period. Originally being developed by Hardsuit Labs, the game was then taken off the studio’s hands. Back in July 2022, Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrick Wester stated that the game was “in good hands”.
The fact that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 finally has a proper release window, along with the new announcement trailers and developer, indicate that Paradox Interactive has managed to get development on the title back on track.
