Mortal Kombat 1 is out now, but as is traditional for the franchise, launch is just the beginning, with plenty of content still in the pipeline for the fighting franchise’s reboot. Series co-creator, director, and NetherRealm Studios boss Ed Boon has issued a reminder for that, recently taking to Twitter and saying, “We look forward to sharing what’s koming next with a loong list of Fighters, Kameos, and game features to come!” An accolades trailer is also shared along with Boon’s tweet to highlight some of the positive critical reception the game has enjoyed. Check it out below.

Mortal Kombat 1’s first Kombat Pack has already been confirmed, and will add six new DLC fighters with The Boys’ Homelander, Invincible’s Omni-Man, DC’s Peacemaker, and returning Mortal Kombat characters Quan-Chi, Ermac, and Takeda. It will also add five new Kameo fighters with Johnny Cage, Tremor, Ferra, Mavado, and Khameleon.

Recent datamining has suggested that additional guest characters like Scream’s Ghostface and Conan the Barbarian, as well as returning series characters like Cassie Cage, Noob Saibot, and others, could also be added as post-launch characters.

Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that it’s currently working on adding cross-play multiplayer, while seasonal single player mode Invasions will also continue to get updated at a regular clip.

In our review of Mortal Kombat 1, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “With its largely satisfying story mode, an intriguing new mode in Invasions, a better progression system for both playable and Kameo characters, and robust online modes, Mortal Kombat 1 delivers the best Mortal Kombat experience ever.” Read the full review through here.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
