Kinect’s first year Japanese sales Revealed

Posted By | On 29th, Nov. 2011

We have Kinect’s first year numbers for Japan and they aren’t that impressive compared to the US. As expected, obviously. These sales were revealed in Famitsu which was translated by Andriasang, and here they are.

It sold 114,000 units till now, and that’s pretty underwhelming considering it’s up to 10 million sales worldwide. Considering the 360 install base, it falls well in line. It averages under 5000 units sold a month.

  • November 2010: 27,800
  • December 2010: 43,200
  • January 2011: 14,800
  • February 2011: 5040
  • March 2011: 3160
  • April 2011: 2100
  • May 2011: 1910
  • June 2011: 3470
  • July 2011: 2980
  • August 2011: 2460
  • September 2011: 1900
  • October 2011: 3333
  • November 2011: 1980

Software sales aren’t too hot either with DanceEvolution being the only title that sold decently. Kinect Adventures was bundled, so the sales were 114,000 just like the Kinect hardware itself.
