Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will have a number of issues on launch. The company has stated that these issues will be fixed with post launch updates.
According to IGN, these issues are relatively minor, and present across multiple games. For example, the subtitles for bonus content in the Metal Gear and Snake’s Revenge NES ports don’t match up to the audio. A post-launch update will also bring a CRT scanline filter to the game, as well as the option to change the game’s pixel aspect ratio.
When it comes to the MSX2 versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, an update will bring with it the ability for players to switch between windowed and full-screen modes. With the three 3D titles, Konami has stated that there might be cutscenes with slow downs, which will be resolved with a patch.
Metal Gear Solid 3 has typos in its subtitles for various versions, and will be getting an update to fix them. All of the titles will also be getting an update that allows players to switch between full-screen and windowed mode from the in-game menu.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is slated for release tomorrow, and is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
