Insomniac Games has announced that it is targeting an early 2024 release window for the much-awaited New Game Plus update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The studio, announcing the release window over social media platform X, stated that it needs more more time to test the feature.

“We have some news about the next game update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” says the statement. “We know players have been eagerly awaiting features such as New Game+ and Audio Descriptions, among many more. We have been working vigilantly on these features and require more testing to ensure the quality is up to our standards.”

The studio has stated that it is also working on other highly-requested features, such as giving players the ability to change the time of the day, swap between different tendril colours, and the ability to replay missions.

Released back in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been getting updates ever since. For example, an update released in early November brought several bug fixes to the game, ranging from UI and HUD issues to problems related to character switching. The studio had originally hoped to bring New Game Plus and Mission replay to the game before 2024.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available on PS5. For more details, check out our review.
