Persona 3 Reload

With the release of Persona 3 Reload, developer Atlus has revealed that players don’t have to worry about an expanded version of the game any time soon. Persona Team production manager Kazuhisa Wada recently spoke to GamerWK, stating that players can buy the game without having to worry about a future re-release like Persona 4 Golden or Persona 5 Royal.

“Currently, we are not considering a revision like with Persona 5 to Persona 5 Royal, which involved significant changes and additions to the original title,” Wada said, as translated by Persona Central. “Fans can rest assured knowing that Persona 3 Reload offers a complete experience.”

For the sake of context, Persona 5 Royal and Persona 4 Golden both added quite a bit of new content to their respective games. Persona 3 Reload, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to feature much that’s new over the original release, even lacking content from the Persona 3 FES or Persona 3 Portable releases, like the playable epilogue from the former or the female protagonist from the latter.

Persona 3 Reload, on the other hand, hopes to be more faithful to the original release of Persona 3, while at the same time bringing more modern features to the game. Notably, Persona 3 Reload leaves behind some of the older mechanics considered more tedious by today’s standards, such as the fatigue system.

Interestingly, there have been rumours that Persona 3 Reload would eventually get some of the Persona 3 FES content through a post-launch DLC. Atlus itself has yet to confirm this, however.

Persona 3 Reload is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
