Hideki Kamiya denies working on Metal Gear Rising

Posted By | On 12th, Dec. 2011

Metal Gear Rising was announced at the VGAs, and the developer was revealed as Platinum Games. Everyone was excited for obvious reasons. This is the same studio that gave us Bayonetta and Vanquish. But we have come to know that Hideki Kamiya, who was behind these games and a lot of critically acclaimed ones is not working on Rising.

Does this change everything? Yes, this does change everything.

This is what he had to say.

“Hey everyone, I said 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times that I have nothing to do with Metal Gear Rising,” he revealed in response to the barrage of questions.

This is disappointing news for the game, as Kamiya’s involvement could have made it so much better. But I have faith in Platinum Games, and they will do a good job with it for sure.

It was earlier revealed that Kojipro was working on the story and Platinum Games on the gameplay. Definitely a good combo. Also, take this with a pinch of salt, but we could be seeing Bayonetta 2 next year.
