While developer Larian Studios has said that it has no plans for DLC or sequels for Baldur’s Gate 3, the studio has now revealed that it is still working on adding things to the game through updates. In an interview with IGN, studio boss Swen Vincke has revealed that the studio is currently working on bringing more evil endings to the game.

“So they’re working on the evil endings right now,” said Vincke. “I’ve seen some of them. They’re really evil. So the evil players will be satisfied with that.”

For the sake of context, Baldur’s Gate 3 allows players to make quite a few choices when it comes to their characters and actions. While these actions often have smaller consequences with various characters or situations, these choices ultimately end up having a larger general effect on the direction of the story as well.

After bringing additional evil endings to the game, Vincke said that the studio will “scale down” its work on Baldur’s Gate 3. “It’s just going to be support on bugs, because we want the team to be working on new things,” he said.

Vincke went on to talk about the addition of mods to Baldur’s Gate 3, and the work that is going into bringing mod support to the RPG’s console versions. The studio is currently working with Sony, Microsoft, as well as Dungeons & Dragons owner Wizards of the Coast to bring mods to Baldur’s Gate 3.

“So we are working with Wizards, Sony, Microsoft… a lot of partners to align, but we’re trying to get cross-platform curated mods in there so that people on console can enjoy the mods that are being made for the PC also,” said Vincke. “So that’ll be a big thing, I think, because there’s a lot of mods already, and then we won’t be able to support everything, but we should be able support quite a few.”

Vincke also recently revealed that Larian is currently planning for its future games. The studio has set its sights on a “very big RPG” to “dwarf” Baldur’s Gate 3, though that won’t be its next project. The next title also won’t be Divinity: Original Sin 3.
