Yellow Brick Games, a studio consisting of quite a few industry veterans, including Dragon Age creator Mike Laidlaw, has unveiled its first game: Eternal Strands. The game, developed in Unreal Engine 5, is being made by a team of 68. Check out the reveal trailer below, courtesy of IGN.

Going by the description of the Eternal Strands trailer, the fantasy action-adventure title draws inspiration from games like Shadow of the Colossus and Monster Hunter, as well as the physics manipulation of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Eternal Strands puts players in the shoes of young fearless Weaver Brynn. As players experience her quest to recover her people’s cultural home, they will get to fight epic enemies that can be as much as 25 meters in height, known as the Arks. Players can make use of the environment, extreme weather events, as well as their own arsenal of weapons and magical abilities to take down these Arks.

In the vein of Monster Hunter, Eternal Strands players will also be able to upgrade their equipment by using materials gathered from slain enemies. This, coupled with the physics system that also allows players to make use of aspects of the environment like heat and cold, will combine to form more dynamic fights in Eternal Strands.

Eternal Strands is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
