Hades 2

Supergiant Games is prepping for the launch of Hades 2 into early access later this year, but in the meantime, it’s inviting participants for a technical test. Interested parties can go to its Steam page and press the “Request Access” button to register their interest.

Though only a “subset of players” who register will be invited to participate (receiving an email with download details), Supergiant expects to grow the population over time. “Our process boils down to: invite some players, fix any problems they run into, invite more players, and so on.” After it is confident in the build’s stability, the technical test will “wind down” before launching early access “relatively soon after.”

System requirements include Windows 10 (64-bit), a dual-core CPU running at 2.4 GHz, 4 GB RAM and a 2 GB VRAM GPU with DirectX 12+ support. The technical test features the game’s first major area alongside “other early-game characters, systems, and content.” Think the first Hades, except you couldn’t exit Tartarus after defeating a guardian.

“If you end up clearing the first major area a number of times, the game will gently suggest that you discontinue play, as Early Access shouldn’t be far behind!” It’s also worth noting that save data from the technical test won’t transfer over to early access due to “structural differences.”

Stay tuned for more details when the technical test goes live. Hades 2’s early access launch is scheduled for Q2 2024 on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
