Instead of a weekly cadence for its developer blog, Rocksteady will release them "when we have big news to share about future content."

If you didn’t notice, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Season of the Joker received its second episode, Duality, about 11 days ago. With Season 1 now fully launched, Rocksteady will shift from Weekly Developer Updates (its blog posts discussing current issues and upcoming changes) to “releasing them when we have big news to share about future content.”

The developer hopes it will make “the release of each new update an exciting event while keeping you all up to date on all the happenings with the game!” While some believe this makes sense – why offer a Developer Update with no updates or significant news, for example – others think this is the first step towards declining support.

Concurrent player numbers on Steam peaked at 519 in the past 24 hours (per SteamDB) – the last time it crossed 1000 was during Season of the Joker’s launch. It plummeted right back down afterwards as fans complained about lack of content, recycled missions (aka “Strongholds”), a hefty grind to unlock The Joker (also available for real money) and so on. You can read our impressions here.

Available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League had “fallen short” of expectations per Warner Bros. Discovery. Later, the parent company confirmed it contributed to a $200 million impact on revenue. While its fifth season could be the last based on rumors, there’s doubt whether the looter shooter can even reach that point. As always, stay tuned for further updates.
