When the Uncharted film released worldwide in 2022, it may not have come even close to enjoying the sort of widespread critical acclaim that other gaming adaptations like The Last of Us or Fallout may have seen, but it was quite a success from a commercial perspective, becoming the fifth-highest grossing video game film of all time, with over $407 million earned at the box office worldwide.
Sony Pictures has said on a number of occasions since then that it intends to make more Uncharted films, and the company has now confirmed that one is in the works. As reported by Variety, among its list of upcoming projects that are currently being worked on, the next Uncharted movie is also mentioned. Presumably, it will once again feature Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake and Victor Sully respectively.
When the movie will release or when we might begin hearing more details about it remains to be seen. Interestingly, Sony Pictures is currently also working with Nintendo on a live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
