Elden Ring Movie/TV Show Seemingly Being Teased by George R.R. Martin

"I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum," the author says.

Elden Ring is on everyone’s mind right now, thanks to the recently-released Shadow of the Erdtree, while it’s also more than a little likely that we’ll be seeing a sequel to the open world action RPG at some point in the future. Interestingly, however, that may not be the extent of expansions to the IP in the future, because it seems like an Elden Ring adaptation might also be in the works.

That’s apparently being teased by none other than George R.R. Martin himself, the Game of Thrones author who penned the lore for Elden Ring and its setting. Writing in a recent blog update, Martin seemed to cheekily – but with little room for doubt – hint at a movie or TV show based on Elden Ring.

Addressing rumours of the same, Martin wrote, “Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on Elden Ring… I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum. What rumor?”

Elden Ring has been a colossal success for FromSoftware, with the base game selling over 25 million units, and the aforementioned expansion starting off strong with over 5 million units sold in its first three days. Both the base game and the expansion have also enjoyed universal critical acclaim.

It wouldn’t be surprising, then, to see the Japanese studio attempting to expand the IP’s reach with a TV show or movie, though how long it’ll be before something like that gets officially announced – if it is actually being worked on – is anyone’s guess.
