With Shadow of the Erdtree coming next week, FromSoftware has confirmed that Elden Ring has sold 25 million copies. The last major milestone for the open-world action RPG was over 23 million copies shipped in February 2024.

Shadow of the Erdtree launches on June 21st, and it’s the developer’s biggest expansion yet. Players venture to the Land of Shadow, pursuing Miquella (Malenia’s brother) and dealing with a mysterious new threat in Messmer the Impaler. The region offers several new dungeons, bosses and enemies.

Fortunately, collecting Scadurtree Fragments can reduce the damage taken, while Reversed Spirit Ashes will increase the damage dealt by Spirit Summons (of which there are new ones). There are also about 100 new weapons to unlock, with new Weapon Arts.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. A special event with Red Bull is coming June 15th, so expect new gameplay and details. Check out our feature in the meantime, and head here for some things we can’t wait to do.
