Bandai Namco and FromSoftware finally revealed the first trailer for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Pre-orders are now live, and new details are available on the official website, including a blurb where the developer confirms this to be its “largest expansion to date.”

The story sees players guided by the Empyrean Miquella, looking much better after the whole affair in the base game, to the Land of Shadow. It’s where Marika first ventured, but there are dark secrets afoot, including those who “follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives.” The Land of Shadow is a new world separate from The Lands Between, with players able to seamlessly travel “back and forth between its vast maps interspersed with diverse situations and meticulous dungeons where menacing enemies roam.”

New weapons, equipment, skills and magic are introduced alongside new enemies and bosses to fight, as seen in the debut gameplay trailer. However, the expansion also offers new plotlines to “further increase players’ RPG freedom.” Perhaps hinting at some new endings? We’ll have to wait and see.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree launches on June 21st for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
