Cyrax is one of six new playable fighters that Mortal Kombat 1 is set to add to its roster with its upcoming Khaos Reigns expansion, and NetherRealm Studios and WB Games have released a new trailer highlighting the returning fan-favourite- who will be taking a very different form this time around.

Mortal Kombat has, of course, entered its multiversal era now, and in Mortal Kombat 1’s New Era, Cyrax, a young woman, is a Lin Kuei warrior known for her prodigious skills, which earned her her position directly under the legendary Sektor. The strength of her convictions, however, has brought her into conflict with her own clan, and her own mentor.

The trailer reveals such brief details on Cryax’s story in the upcoming expansion, while also showcasing her moveset, which, as you might imagine, will involve plenty of cybernetic technology and explosive weaponry. Her hornet-based Animality is also teased. Check out the trailer below.

Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns launches on September 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The base game has sold over 4 million units worldwide.
