Overwatch 2 Season 12 New Frontiers_02

Season 12 of Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch 2 is just around the corner, and while the new Support hero, Juno, is one of the main attractions, the other is Clash. It’s the first new core game mode since Push and sees two teams competing on a map with five zones. Capturing one grants a point, and the first team to five wins.

In a new Developer Update video, the developer discusses several changes made to Clash following its limited trial in Season 10. Capture times and decay rates have been increased for all zones, and capture speeds are adjusted when one, two, or three teammates are on an active objective.

Some zones also have increased spawn delays, which should mean fewer PTSD flashbacks to the old days of Assault. One of the better changes is the final capture zone’s splitting into three segments, similar to Escort and Hybrid progress. One is worth a point, so you can effectively end a match by capturing all three.

Clash will launch with two maps, Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis when it goes live. Stay tuned for more details, including balance adjustments.
