A day after its launch, reports have indicated that Black Myth: Wukong has been wildly successful for developer Game Science. As reported by Caixin News Agency (via MP1st), statistics from the China Game Bestsellers List suggest that Black Myth: Wukong sold more than 4.5 million copies in pre-orders alone, before the game was even launched.

These numbers include multiple platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, WeGame, and the PlayStation Store. It’s also reported that thanks to its massive pre-order figures, the game has also generated 1.5 billion yuan in revenue, which roughly translates to around $210.4 million. Game Science, however, has yet to officially reveal sales figures for the action RPG.

Shortly after Black Myth: Wukong was officially available, the game quickly climbed up the charts in terms of concurrent players, crossing 2.2 million concurrent players yesterday. This launch-day performance eclipses juggernauts of the medium like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077, making it the most played single-player game on Steam to date.

Black Myth: Wukong is currently available on PC and PS5. For more details, here are 15 tips and tricks you need to know. And check out our review, where we gave it a perfect 10 out of 10.
