If it weren’t obvious, Studio Zero’s Metaphor: ReFantazio, directed by Persona 5’s Katsura Hashino, is a massive game. While plenty of combat and activities await, a new Atlus Showcase highlights the activities players can partake in when exploring the world. Check it out below.

After leaving the Royal Capital, the protagonist and their party arrive in Martira, the Old Castle Town. They can engage in activities like bungee jumping and increase their Virtues (which opens up new requests). You can also take on Bounties to exterminate monsters, bond with allies, or strengthen yourself with other side quests.

If you talk to Informants, they’ll provide information on monster habits and open up potential new locations. Meanwhile, interacting with King’s Rocks allows checking one’s standing in the Royal Tournament. It increases naturally through the story, but some quests can also raise it further.

A new location, Brilehaven, is also showcased for the first time. The port town offers seafood restaurants (where you can inexplicably fish), various taverns and inns, and even a Coliseum (with a tease of activities within). You can also take a tour by boat, though some strange balls of water linger off in the distance. More of the town unlocks as the story progresses.

Those confused about what to do can either speak to Gallica, their fairy companion or check Traveler’s Voices to see what other players did during their time.

Metaphor: ReFantazio launches on October 11th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. It will be at Tokyo Game Show 2024 with a special demo while the next Atlus Showcase debuts this Fall. Head here for more details on other locations and the newly revealed Eupha.
