Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s next season starts on June 26th, adding two new cosmetic packs for Season Pass holders and Siege Mode for everyone. The latter is anticipated since up to three players can work together to fight off increasingly challenging waves of Tyranids and Chaos forces.

Unfortunately, there are some caveats. Saber Interactive CCO Tim Willits already clarified that it doesn’t directly tie into the campaign, and in the same interview with IGN, he confirmed no new enemy types.

“Siege Mode won’t release with a new enemy, but all the existing ones will be there. Only mission-specific bosses like the Hive Tyrant from the Decapitation mission and the Trygon from Exfiltration won’t be in Siege Mode.” On the bright side, new enemies (including one introduced in Season 4) will eventually be added.

As for how the difficulty increases, players can expect “More Minoris and Majoris enemies. More Extremis enemies. And more Terminus bosses as well. Sometimes, several bosses at once, even. It gets very hectic!” There won’t be any leaderboards or rankings, but players can unlock exclusive cosmetics similar to completing Absolute difficulty missions.

You can also earn Requisition Points, Armory Data and XP, which should help progression. The public test server for Siege Mode launches on June 4th, allowing PC players to try it out early, so stay tuned for more details.
