NetherRealm Studios and Digital Eclipse have announced that they are bringing back its classic Mortal Kombat games. Dubbed the Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection, the collection will include quite a few games from throughout the 1990s and the 2000s. Check out the announcement trailer below.

The announcement doesn’t yet include the full list of Mortal Kombat games that will be part of the collection. An incomplete list includes Mortal Kombat (1992), Mortal Kombat 2 (1993), Mortal Kombat 3 (1995), Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (1995), Mortal Kombat 4 (1997), Mortal Kombat Advance (2001), Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (2002), and Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition (2003).

A wide variety of versions of these classic titles will be available, including versions made for older consoles like the Sega Genesis and SNES, old arcade machines, and even Game Boy Advance.

The project to bring back these classic titles is being handled by Digital Eclipse – a studio that has previously worked on games like Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration and Tetris Forever. In keeping with its tradition, Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection will also include extra content about the development of the classic Mortal Kombat games. This will range from unique behind-the-scenes documentaries and new concept art.
