It’s been a long six weeks or so for Wildlight Entertainment’s Highguard, especially following its reception at The Game Awards. Nevertheless, it’s finally playable on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with plenty of new gameplay and details to go around. But any free-to-play title lives and dies by its post-launch support. What does Highguard have in store for the rest of the year?
Quite a bit, judging by the recently revealed roadmap. The current launch encompasses Episode 1; Episode 2 goes live next month with Part 1 introducing a new playable Warden, map, mount and Ranked Mode. Part 2 will become available in March, bringing a new base and raid tool for even more strategic options.
Episode 3 debuts in April with another new Warden, weapon and mods, followed by a new base, amulets, and loot item in May. You’ll see much of the same when Episode 4 drops in June, but it promises a new limited-time mode in Part 2 (which is due in July).
Episodes 6 and 7 will be the ones to watch out for, since they both include “surprises.” What could they be, outside of brand-new components like PvE or other new modes? Time will tell, so stay tuned for more updates.
