After having recently teased a new announcement, Japan’s Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association has released a video teasing Tokyo Game Show 2026. The teaser, which you can check out below, is a 15-second clip reaffirming that this year’s Tokyo Game Show will take place from September 17th to the 21st.

The official social media account for Tokyo Game Show 2026 has described this year’s event as being the longest one so far, with 5 days of “non-stop fun” to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the event. The main visuals for the teaser video were created by illustrator Zashikiwarashi.

The company behind the event has also revealed its first wave of “TGS BOOSTERZ” – essentially a few social media personalities that will help the company promote Tokyo Game Show 2026. The line-up includes Junpei Zaki and Taizo Zaki, Kayane, Eriza Freya, and Shao Dow.

Companies hoping to exhibit their own projects at the event have a deadline of May 22nd, after which applications will be closed.

“This year, through reviewing exhibition hall layouts and dispersing large-scale booths in pursuit of maximizing and optimizing exhibition space, we are making it possible for even more companies to exhibit,” said the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association.

“In addition to game fans and business professionals, we are planning to actively invite domestic and international press and influencers, making this an excellent opportunity to promote exhibitors’ products globally.”

While the list of major companies that will participate in Tokyo Game Show 2026 remains to be seen, there have been rumors about some of the games that might show up, including the much-anticipated Kingdom Hearts 4.

Tokyo Game Show 2025 was deemed a successful event by the company, which confirmed that it saw 263,101 attendees over the course of its 4-day run. The first two days of the event, dubbed business days and not open to the public, saw 52,352 and 54,779 attendees, respectively. The remaining two days saw 77,415 and 78,555 attendees, respectively.

The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association had also celebrated Tokyo Game Show 2025 as hitting a major milestone by featuring 1,136 exhibitors from across 47 different countries and regions. This, noted the trade association, had broken previous records.

As for how much business got conducted during the business days of TGS 2025, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association said that “business negotiations were also highly active,” with 3,591 different appointments having been made. Along with this, 21 different programs had been streamed through official social media handles across YouTube, Twitch, and X.

While the yearly Tokyo Game Show events have largely been home to Japanese companies and their games, there have been times when Western companies have also used it to showcase their upcoming titles. Among these last year was Microsoft, which unveiled Forza Horizon 6, which makes use of Japan as the setting for its open world. TGS 2025 also saw games by Konami, Koei Tecmo, Sega, Capcom, and Square Enix, among others, being available on the showroom floor.
