Embark is celebrating the completion of its Denuvo Anti-Cheat rollout to ARC Raiders by making its matchmaking experience much more satisfying, especially if you like to wear different hats.
While earlier iterations could tend to favor lobbies with more aggressive players if you were fresh off a session with your buddies, your playstyles across squad sizes are now tracked, and the matchmaking adjusts accordingly. For example, hunting other players with a group won’t affect solo runs by matching you with other hostile players. It’s a great way to get a more consistent experience across the board, and the new 1.36 update is probably going to be quite well-received if everything goes according to plan.
There’s also a buff to the loot you get from ARC Turbines, and fixes to their despawning issues that should make taking them down a worthwhile way to spend your time on the surface. Fighting Matriarchs and Queens should also be less of a pain since the knockback from their stomps no longer penetrates walls.
Of course, it’s also brought the promise of future expansions to the Free Kit mechanic, which could apply to other map conditions (besides receiving improvements overall). It’s a work in progress, but for the moment, we’re happy to join the player base and just cut loose for a while with this new matchmaking update.
