Palworld has officially hit 1.0, exiting early access for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PC. While other platforms’ numbers remain unknown, it’s currently at 485,501 peak concurrent players on Steam and is the fourth most-played title on the platform.
It’s also the highest since February 2024, one month after early access began. Sure, it’s nowhere near the lifetime peak of over 2.1 million concurrent players, but considering the weekend is approaching, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Palworld cross one million.
As such, Pocketpair doesn’t need to worry about sales, confirming over 40 million players thus far. That total is likely to increase even further as word of mouth spreads about 1.0, but even with its popularity, the developer confirmed the price won’t be increasing. It’s remaining at $29.99 since the title has become a “success beyond our wildest dreams.”
Even with so much new content, including a new region, Pals, points of interest, structures and an end-game scenario, the question remains: What’s next? Development won’t be ending, but you shouldn’t expect anything equivalent to, say, No Man’s Sky due to engine limitations and because of the very nature of the game. That said, publishing manager and communications director John Buckley wouldn’t rule out a 2.0 update in the future.
