After more than 13 years, the limbless wonder is making a comeback courtesy of Rayman Legends Retold. Granted, it’s a remake of the 2013 classic, but with revamped visuals, full voice acting, and much more. But that’s not all, as Rayman Origins is getting the remastered treatment on the very same day for those who purchase Retold (and not for $1999, as when it first appeared on the Microsoft Store).
If you’re one of those who feel like Legends didn’t need the remake treatment, rejoice. Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition retains the same art style but with 4K textures for even more fidelity. While it looks downright gorgeous in the first gameplay trailer below, this is more than a simple port. You can expect 18 new skins, 50 new Standees that offer more lore, and the previously PlayStation Vita-exclusive Relics.
The latter are hidden throughout the various levels, so there’s plenty of reason to explore. In terms of quality of life, players finally get the option to remap controls, skip cutscenes and even speed up the level ending animations. Those on PS5 can also experience haptic feedback with the DualSense, which changes based on the character.
Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition launches on October 1st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. As for Retold, head here for more details on its Switch 2 performance.
