Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis might be a while away from its February 2027 release, but that hasn’t stopped its makers from showing off aspects of the experience and sharing their excitement, which is proving quite infectious if we’re being honest.
That deep dive into movement and traversal was pretty great, and we’ve now got a peek behind the curtain at how puzzles and traps will work. A bunch of the team shows up in the video, each of them enthusiastically highlighting important design elements, such as how a region’s mythology and technology are often interwoven into the puzzles and their solutions. The familiar cog puzzle has been reapproached, with the developers cheekily telling us that things will be different without delving into details.
We’re especially excited to see how their take on Egypt as one large interconnected puzzle will be presented. Of course, those gorgeous visuals are sure to make the entire thing more stunning, but we’ve also been warned to keep a sharp eye out for concealed hazards that could hurt Lara. All in all, this one’s shaping up to be a quintessential Tomb Raider experience with a layer of modern polish that makes it quite immersive indeed.
The Developer Diary’s below if you’re looking to map out a few trap locations and puzzle solutions from the limited glimpses we’ve been given.
