After less than a year in early access, Digital Sun’s Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will exit on September 2nd. Aside from PC, Version 1.0 will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. You can also play it on day one with Game Pass, though Steam players curious about its gameplay loop can check out the free demo.
So what can you expect from 1.0? There’s the Bomb Path, which creates explosions after hitting enemies enough times, and you can also finally upgrade Will’s shop to level 5. This will unlock new cosmetics, more slots for Bloblets, and whatnot. That’s on top of four new Endless Weapon Aspects, including a Short Sword, Great Sword, Spear and Gauntlets.
If that wasn’t enough, the Endless Void armor, which offers increased critical hit chance and critical damage depending on the number of Spark perks, can be crafted. There’s also a Machine Gun gadget, because Will finally decided to bring a gun to a sword fight.
Of course, it doesn’t just end with the story’s conclusion. You can now delve into the Endless Vault 7 in the endgame (which unlocks new cosmetics) or take on Hardcore Mode, where dying in a dungeon means starting over. Stay tuned for more details when Version 1.0 launches next month.
